Once I submit my registration, how long will it take before I get my login ?
Approximately 24-48 hours before your purchased course is scheduled to begin, you will receive an email that includes your login and password along with the link to the Anne Arundel Community College Learning Management System. If you do not receive this email by the morning that your course(s) is scheduled to begin, please contact us at
Education@bpaa.com or call
800-343-1329.
Do I have to log in to the course on specific days and times?
No. Each course is completely self-paced so you can log on and off at times that are most convenient for you. The courses start each month on the second Wednesday and end the last Sunday of the month, so you will have nineteen days to finish the coursework. There will be contact with other students through the discussion boards but you will go through the course according to what fits best with your schedule.
How long does it take to go through a course?
The amount of time it takes to complete one course will vary based on the course level and the amount of knowledge you may already have of the subject. Generally speaking, the time commitment is approximately 1 - 2 hours online and an additional 1 - 2 hours offline (homework). It's best to not wait until the last few days of the month to start. Your participation in the discussion boards is valuable and may be necessary for other students to complete their coursework.
How do I decide which course to take first?
Deciding which course to take can depend on several factors. What is your job function and what is your level of experience? What are your immediate needs at the center? What types of projects does the center have planned? Do you want to focus on one or two topics? Are you planning on taking just a few courses or will you be completing a certification tract? Consider these points when determining which course(s) to start with. For advice, contact a representative by calling 800-633-2940 or email Education@bpaa.com.
